Makeup application at Macy's?

I've read a few conflicting reports on whether or not its free. Really though, I don't want a whole makeover, I just want to find a new foundation. The Mary Kay stuff I've been using is okay, but I would like to look into something else, now that I'm close to running out. Maybe Bare Minerals? I really like MAC and Urban Decay for eyes, so maybe they have something nice for foundation? Any tips? If I ask them to apply a foundation, is there a charge? Do I need an appointment? Again, I'm only looking for foundation, not a whole makeover.Makeup application at Macy's?
There is no charge if you are trying on products, seeking to buy the one you like. There is also no need to schedule an appointment, unless you are planning a whole makeover for a special occasion (Which I believe you would need to pay for) Since you can try on most products that MAC has to offer, you may not even need a consultant to assist you. If you need help in choosing a specific type of foundation for your face, simply ask. No need to be shy.

MAC is known for their thick, clay-like foundations. It's supposedly used as stage makeup, therefore the need for thicker characteristics. If you are looking for something light on the face, perhaps MAC foundations aren't for you.

Macy's has several makeup counters, each for a separate makeup brand. Each makeup brand has a counter specified for their makeup brand only. The best counter to go to is the MAC counter, obviously. It will be labeled. If you get foundation applied by a beautician and it's not to your liking, politely tell them you don't think this is the foundation for you. They cannot make you buy the product. You may try on another one of their products or simply leave. You can travel to other makeup counters around the store and try out their products, as well.Makeup application at Macy's?
go to MAC...there really are the best makeup, i acutally had then do my makeup for proms. they are really good, but inorder for them to do your whole makeup you have to buy 3 or 4 things and then they will do your makeup.... but if you do have a question about the shadows or foundation they will show you how to do them

also MAC makeup is the only counter in the macy's department that is acutally LICENCED for a makeup artiist
I went from MAC to Bare Minerals for foundation %26amp; am in love! I tried so many products over the years %26amp; everything you see in the infomercial is true. Good coverage, feels light on the skin and it feels good.

Head to a local Bare Escentuals or Sephora for a full lesson on how to apply it.

The gals at the MAC counter apply make-up for free. I still go to MAC for eyes and lips. Really dig their colors!
Any makeup counter you go to should be totally willing to help you find a new foundation, and no, it won't cost any money. I really love MAC makeup, and all the people that work there (at every counter I've ever been to!) have been very sweet and down to earth. You don't need an appointment- just walk in whenever! Try to go during the day during the week if you can- you'll get more time and attention than if you go during a busier time like after work/school or on the weekend.
They will do it for free -- particularly if you seem like you're going to buy something, which you do. You don't *need* an appointment, but it can't hurt to get one.
