Why do women just assume that men dont know style coordination and proper makeup applications?

Its so annoying that women seem to just assum we are like dumb animals that burp, fart and scratch all the time?

Im not like that. I get manicures once every few weeks. I gave helped my girlfriend also, till she left me.

I use a concealer to do my face too. Nothing to weird, just a simple foundation to cover up my blemishes and stuff. I know how to select the right one for my skin type. I also like to use mascara to enhance my lashes. I also do my own eyebrows so they look sexy. Why do women just assume that men dont know style coordination and proper makeup applications?
Cause usually you don't ask a guy to recommend an eye shadow primer. Why do women just assume that men dont know style coordination and proper makeup applications?
Good point. The leading men in the old hollywood days would use subtle cosmetics to enhance their features. A lot of rock-and-roll performers use cosmetics daily, and they've got female fans going nuts over them.

To each their own, you have a look that feels right to you. Others prefer a more earthy appearance and that's their choice. Be yourself.
yes there should be more metrosexuals out there, or atleast more men who care about thier appearance a little more. ITs not unmanly to want to look nice and a lot of guys just dont care about thier appearance. If I look nice then why cant they? ITs really not that diffucult.
I think that's called metrosexual: where a man is sensitive to his appearance.

Good for you, I think every guy should be metro, lol.

:)
Why do you assume that women are a homgeneous group?
Well, whatever floats your boat... I'm sure you're a lot more pleasant to share an elevator with than many men.
ur like gay or something dude - get help
First, you must open your eyes and understand that even most men prefer women's natural look over the makeup and cosmetics.

That goes TRIPLE for women.

Everyone (men, women, and yes...you) burps and farts. But you mean you don't want to be dirty. Then be clean, but be manly.

I think you are going over bored with the foundation and tweezing, i grew up with 4 sisters, only boy... I know about that stuff too, but you won't see me shelling out a penny for any of that junk. I'm so deep into sports and workingout its a waste of time.

There is nothing wrong with how you wish to look, but if you are trying to attract females, you need to recognize that women (most) like men... and if you don't look like a man, then they really won't like you.

Now that you broke up with your gf, i suggest you seek her advice as a friend on what you can do to maintain your clean look, but still have the masculine appeal.
Sorry, no offense...but I prefer the men that burp fart and scratch to those that wear makeup. I would seriously rather see your blemishes than see you with make up on.

Plenty of men respect themselves...in fact enough to say...

fock it...I've got a blemish deal with it.

Do you actually attract women, wearing make up???

Oh jeeze...you tweez your brows?

Well as long as your happy.

Did the girlfriend say why she was leaving?

EDIT:

yeah, darlin...that's what I thought.

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, I'm just being honest....as a feminine woman...you could be my girlfriend...but not my man.

EDIT:

That's great...I'm all for well groomed men...but why the make up, that's not about cleanliness and you know it. and the tweezed brows...that looks feminine, not clean....feminine.

EDIT: Because...it makes you look like a chick!

What's wrong with looking like a man?

Seriously...and you don't have to answer this outloud...just ask yourself...how are women responding to this feminine look of mine?

I mean...if it's working, and youre happy, great.

If not, and that makes you unhappy...you may want to reconsider this look. I suppose you wear girls panties too?

Men bushy brows arent ugly...they're MASCULINE.

LOOSE POWDER-USE A LOT WITH A BLUSH OR POWDER BRUSH FOR A MATTE FINISH YOU GO GIRL~!Hi.. ibought that cover girl clean makeup and loose powder and i wanted to know what are good application tips
I always put like foundation or powder on my cheeks and apply it back toward my hairline and it always seems to be an even application when I do that and work out well.

I was handed an application at MAC (makeup) without asking, just conversation with the MA. Should I go for it?

If you are a MAC freak or any makeup artist, you know its hard to get a job there. I have no experience. I hope to do freelance work at some point but im simply a novice, and timing wise its such a crazy offer. However Id be lying if I said it isnt something Id love to do. To my knowledge its impossible to work there. But why did she randomly give me an app?? As long as its hanging on my fridge I cant ignore it. Sounds stupid but help please :]I was handed an application at MAC (makeup) without asking, just conversation with the MA. Should I go for it?
You should definitely give it a try even if you're no expert... everyone starts somewhere and you can gain great experience here. I work at Macy's so i know a few people who work for MAC and have some friends also working for them, a lot of them started out at MAC and had no previous proper experience... plus, you can be around people who can teach you a lot of this is an area you really want to get into.I was handed an application at MAC (makeup) without asking, just conversation with the MA. Should I go for it?
if you have no experience, you are not going to get hired. MAC only hires MUA's with experience and training. Also, they do not give out applications. They don't even have applications. They accept your resume and send it over to their hiring office and they contact you.
Go for it only if you really want it, if not, leave it to someone who really really wants the job.
yeah i think you should, if thats what you wanna do!
i think u should

Will daily application of makeup ruin my skin at 15?

hi, im 15 years old and wear makeup everyday. Not for everyone else but for myself. I dont have any pimples or anything just small freckles and light skin.

I have blue eyes, blonde hair.

And i think i look better with it.

I put it on so it looks natural, but flawless.

I use mascara

2 shades of foundation (not heavy) used with spoungy thing

then powder

and brush on some bronzer

followed by some rub in blush.

I use it all over my face (except blush)

but i am just a bit concerned.

I moisterize with a very good natural mouisterizer befor and after application. I use a cleanser eveynight in the shower to get it all off, but i always feel guilty because im wondering is this ruining my skin and is the moisturizer really making up for it?

Will my skin damage or age quickly? Please i would love any advise.

And please dont start with 'Your young, you dont need makeup', because well, i feel uncomfertable without it so i wear it.Will daily application of makeup ruin my skin at 15?
What you're doing sounds great. Most teenage girls do wear make-up, however they do not seem to always wash it off before bed, as well as remember to moisturize twice daily.

I doubt that it will ruin your skin since it seems as though you are taking proper care of it. It may have a tiny effect on it as you get older, but probably not much since you cleanse and moisturize often. As someone mentioned before, make sure your moisturizer has SPF in it, preferably 15, and that will definitely help maintain the youth and natural glow in your skin. Another thing I doubt is that you will continue to wear as much make up in about two years to even a years time. When I was 14-15 I wore almost exactly what you wear, foundation, bronzer, mascara etc. However in my junior year of high school i started to become a bit lazy and realized that if you have pretty good skin, then foundation is not all that necessary. For the rest of the year I only wore eyeliner. This year, in my senior year, I wear absolutely no make up at all. It's so much easier, and in time, I think you'll find that you actually look a bit better with less make up on. However if you still want to wear the same amount of make up for a while, go for it, just keep doing what you're doing! Will daily application of makeup ruin my skin at 15?
You are doing the right thing by cleansing and moisturising your skin every night.

I know this girl who never cleaned off her eye make up, and then i din't see her for a while. When i did see her, around her eyes looked awful!!! Wrinkly and just bad, so keep up your cleansing routine.

I agree with the natural make-up answer...because normal foundation does clog your pores, but a natural foundation, or one with an SPF in it would be even better.

So good on you. Choose the right make up and keep doing waht your doing, i reckon your skin should be fine :)
No it won't wreck your skin! In fact, I often think it helped mine because I was far more aware of cleansing properly after wearing it!

Make sure your moisturiser and foundation has SPF's in it too! Added bonus -sun protection!
I completely understand where you're coming from (I've been there). I would say try to use makeup with spf in it and oil free. That will keep your skin young because it will protect it from the sun and oil free will reduce your chances of breaking out. I think you're doing good with washing your face. I use the 3 step from Clinique where you wash, tone, and moisturize twice a day. However, there are all kinds of brands that offer a 3 step you can try. Washing obviously cleans your face, toning removes dead skin cells, and moisturizing keeps your face from getting dry. Now, I even use an eye cream (I'm only 20, but I have dark circles so that helps) and an antioxidant moisturizer that protects my skin from pollutants in the air. As long as your remain consistent with your skin care, you should be fine.
It depends on what type of make-up you use.

Try to use make-up with all natrual ingredients and pure mineral powders.

All the crap they put in some cosmetics would ruin anybody's skin with long-period use.

The only thing I'd change is that you should use a moisturiser with an SPF of 15 or higher EVERY day, rain or shine. Sun damage ruins skin over time and you can keep yourself looking a LOT younger a lot longer if you start wearing sunscreen NOW! Use it on your arms and hands, too... it's every actress and model's secret to looking great for a long time.

Also, you should look in to mineral makeup. Not that junk they sell in drugstores or supermarkets - go to a GOOD spa and get a good brand like Jane Iredale, Youngblood, Bare Minerals, or, if you can find it, Mineralogie - that one is THE BEST!! I could go on for a whole page about how Mineral Makeup is SO great for you, but you should just go to a makeup artist and ask him or her. Take a friend so you can both get makeovers!

One more thing - NEVER smoke or do drugs! Those are the ABSOLUTE WORST things you can do for your skin! You put that crap in your body and it comes out through your pores, I swear! Even too much alcohol is WAY bad for your skin. Eat healthy, drink lots of water and avoid the sun! You'll have pretty skin and a healthy body well into old age! Will daily application of makeup ruin my skin at 15?
Not at all, don't listen to anmyone that critises you because you are young. If it makes YOU feel more cconfident and better about yourself then you should do it.

It wont ruin your skin if you make sure you cleanse it off each night. The reasno is, if you leave it on it's like a mask and wont allow your skin to breathe which will cause blocked pores, blakcheads etc.

If anything makeup protects your skin, it forms a barrier frmo harsh weather like wind and sun.

Just make sure you use a daily moisturiser with a sun protection and cleanse and moisturise each night.
When I was in high school I noticed alot of white girls wearing alot of makeup, they did not have really bad skin, like pimples and bumps. But when you get older you know you will make Creulla Deville look like Jessica Simpson. Wear anything in moderation. Always buy extra sponges and clean your brushes. These are where the hidden dangers are.
I think it should be fine. Make up usually gives younger girls spots cause its oily but if your not getting any spots its fine and using moisturiser and toner should keep your skin healthy

Using mineral based makeup is your best bet. It looks natural, its good for your skin (non clogging), and it has a natural sunscreen from titanium and zinc oxides. Will daily application of makeup ruin my skin at 15?
foundation will make you age quicker - MYTH!

foundation is not bad for your skin at all...

unless you

a) use a REALLY cheap one.

i'm talking under ten dollars here...

b) don't wash it off, and cleanse, tone and moisturise your face every night

or

c) you apply it multiple times a day.

as for other makeup, it doesn't affect you at all unless you are allergic.

i suggest a brand such as clinique or dermalogica, as they make them for all skin types, so you can get one that best suits you.

makeup looks nice and if it makes you confident - GO FOR IT

coz confidence is the sexiest thing anyone can have.

also use a really nice, light cleanser and makeup remover.

I also suggest using a powder over the top of your liquid foundation as this is ideal for hot days, so it has the best possible coverage and you don't have to reapply or put tonnes on :]
There is nothing wrong with wearing makeup everyday especially since many of it has sun proof. My only comment is that young people usually have the most beautiful skin and features so using so many products may not be necessary to bring out the best in you. You can use a mineral foundation - with sun proof. A light brushing of blush. A little eyeliner. Cliniques makes a beautiful gloss; I think it's called Apple Blossom that's beautiful on everyone.
It's okay to wear makeup but I would really consider not wearing foundation everyday. You still have young skin %26amp; you should allow it to breathe as makeup will tend to dry it out %26amp; not let it hydrate itself. If you must wear foundation try to mimize it to when you go out %26amp; not all the time.
never wear makeup on a daily basis. You need to your skin a brrak and let it breathe!

-make sure ur diet is full of antioxidants ( all the berry's family)

- drink ALOT of water

- never wear make up too much

- always cleanse, moisturize mortning and night

- always put sunblock even though its cloudy, cuz its actually harmful than clear skies cuz it maximizes the uv rays' harmfulness

also make sure you live in a clean inviroment that doesnt have pollutio.. other than that Gr8 Job and keep up your lovely skin! ;)
Hey, I started wearing make-up at 12. It was only tinted moisturiser by its still make-up.

I wear make-up everyday now, tinted moisturiser followed by loose powder, blush, mascara and eyeliner.

Make-up doesn't ruin your skin unless you don't take it off before you go to bed. Always give your skin a day off, at least once a week. When you're not going out don't put make-up on and just let your skin breathe. No one's going to see you so it's not going to hurt.

Also, it's good to have a nice skin care treatment plan. Like at night, remove your make-up, wash your face then tone, apply some acne cream (if needed) and some moisturiser and thats it. Skin taken care of. Its good to have products that work for your skin and you are comfortable using.

I also think that its good to wash your face in the morning when you wake up. It wakes you up, removes all of the moisturiser and dirt that has built up over the night. Then once you've washed your face you can apply your make-up.

If you take care of your skin now, then it will look flawless when you're older.
No, it wont.

Just make sure that you wash it off every night, no matter how tired you are. Splash water on your face to get it out of the pores, and make sure you put on moisturizer.

Of course, your skin needs to breathe so make sure you look after it.

What application brushes do you recieve with the bare minerals starter makeup kit?

You get A concealer brush, a face brush for regular coverage, The handy buki brush for more complete coverage or the full size kabuki brush depending on which kit you ordered. Let me just say that I have been using bare minerals for Almost 2 years and when applied correctly it is worth every penny. It is pure and good for your skin and it looks natural and lasts all day while giving you excellent coverage. Remember to use as little as you need as less is definitely more with this product. People who say they look like mannequins probably are using too much or blending poorly. Also when applying to the face do not bother with the face brush as I find it is useless for applying the foundation. Use it for Warmth and mineral veil and use one of the two kabukis instead as it gives better coverage and blends better. I really think if you apply it correctly, you'll love it as much as I do. Just give yourself time to experiment with it because it does take some time to get used to and to feel comfortable with the way you apply it because the aaplication is so different from liquids. Good luckWhat application brushes do you recieve with the bare minerals starter makeup kit?
i think something like a kabuki brushWhat application brushes do you recieve with the bare minerals starter makeup kit?
you get a big brush for powder and a small brush for blush. i don't remember, but i think you get an eye shadow brush. i hope you are not buying this product. it's nasty. makes us look like manacanes. (can't spell )you know dummies. it's too heavy. i wasted alot of money and i am very unhappy with it. in fact i don't use it. so it really is a waste.

  • Application of Powder Makeup?

Which is better to use for application of powder makeup 鈥?a brush or a鈥?I don鈥檛 know what they are called, those poofy round things???Application of Powder Makeup?
It all depends on what you like. A brush can be cleaner than the puff the powder comes with because you can wash it. If its a fancy puff, you can wash that too with shampoo. It all depends, I'm a brush girl because I like how even you can apply it with a brush.Application of Powder Makeup?
i use the poofy thing inside the compact. i think it gives more coverage, i also use the brushes after, that way it brushes away all the excess powder and gives a more natural look.
a brush.... it distributes the powder more evenly over the face..
I prefer a brush because it's more precise and it's easier to clean. It's important to buy a nice one though and it will last you a long time if you care for it.
brushes are nice. buy a good one, it will be worth it. those poofy things are hard to wash and can carry a lot of bacteria. just make sure you wash your brush with brush cleaner or baby shampoo once a week and they will stay in good condition for a long time. start at the center of your face and work outward. good luck!
Please, do not use makeup, including powder, unless you are grossly disfigured. You will look better. Thanks. I'm serious. Thanks again. :-)

    Makeup product and application question?

Hey all. So I need some help with makeup and makeup products. I have bluish/light green eyes, pretty fair skin, light brown long hair. My skin gets red easily, especially in the cold and wind. Right now I use Covergirl TruBlend liquid foundation (doesn't work too well), Maybelline Mineral Power Powder Foundation (kinda orangey on me), concealer if i need it, brown liquid eyeliner on my upper lid, sometimes i use a black eyeliner stick on my lower lid, two coats of Maybelline mascara, and a whiteish lilacish eyeshadow. It looks okay on some days. I want to use new products and go for a new look. Any help for products would be awesome! I especially!! want new foundation that lasts all day and provides GOOD coverage! Any tips on how to apply properly would be much appreciated! Thank you so much! I can put up pictures if needed.

    Thanks!Makeup product and application question?
I think it would be best if you tried to move away from the drug store cosmetics. They aren't bad but you will see much better results using semi high end brands. Here's what I suggest...

A good moisturizer! Pick up one at any drugstore that you think will do your type of skin well.

Smashbox Photofinish Primer.. this can be purchased at Sephora. This will help seal in your foundation and make it last for the whole day without rubbing or sliding off.

If you're looking for a liquid foundation go with Makeup Forever HD Liquid Foundation or MAC Studio Fix Fluid. Makeup Forever can be purchased at Sephora and MAC can be purchased at most Macys and Nordstroms or just a freestanding store.

If you're looking for a powder foundation (much better for your skin!) go with Makeup Forever Duo Mat Powder. This can be purchaed at Sephora. It's EXCELLENT coverage!! Very natural but still wonderful.

If you go for liquid foundation you will need a powder to set it. Go for MAC Blot Powder of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. If you go for Makeup Forever HD pick up the Makeup Forever HD Powder to set the liquid.

MAC and Makeup Forever both make excellent bronzers. If you want something with a little shimmer go for MAC Bronzer in Golden. It's beautiful and not orangey at all. If you want something with no shimmer, get one of the Makeup Forever Bronzers. I'm not sure which shade would you suit you, they run a little light so you're best bet is to try them out yourself.

Make sure you get good brushes!! Quality brushes are very important. Pick up a foundation brush, powder brush, and flat shader eyeshadow brush. All these can be purchased at MAC. I suggest the 187 for liquid and the 239 for eyeshadow. Use your own judgement for a fluffly powder brush. If you can't spend as much, go to Target and pick up the Sonia Kashuk brushes. Those are pretty good quality as well. Use your own judgement when picking out which ones you think would be best.

MAC has several great eyeshadow colors to chose from including some very pretty purples. Have the Makeup Artist help you pick out some shades that go together.

Stick with your drugstore eyeliners as they work usually just as well as semi high end to high end eyeliners. Drugstore Mascara is ok as well. No need to change that. If you want to though, go for MAC eye kohl in Smolder or for waterproof eyeliner, powerpoint pencil. I believe they also put out liquid eyeliner but to be honest, I think the drug store brands work equally as well. If you'd like to change your mascara go for DiorShow. It will give you awesome lashes.

Hope this helps!Makeup product and application question?
Revlon colorstay foundation is the best drugstore foundation ever!

you can apply it with a foundation brush and face sponges.
I have heard so many great things about Revlon liquid foundation! But I have never tried it personally. But I would go for that one if you want a great drugstore foundation. For bronzer, I have only gotten one of them and the one I got I wouldn't recommend. For a powder I am loving Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder.

    http://www.revlon.com/ProductCatalog/Pro鈥?/a>

This is how I apply liquid: Take my finger and get a little foundation and dot it on my face then blend it together with fingers. I have tried using a brush and it doesn't work out so well. I just make sure my fingers are really clean. Then after that I put on concealer sometime w/ a brush and sometimes not. The I put my Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder all over w/ a powder brush.

    http://www.maybelline.com/Product/Face/P鈥?/a>

For mascara and eyeliner I think you are good but it doesn't sound like are having a hard time w/ that. For eyeshadow get one of the Maybelline eyeshadow quads they are great they tell you how to do different looks w/ the for eyeshadows you get.

Help!! Im 15 and am just starting to wear makeup and i have no idea what i should wear...Any application tips?

yeah just keep it simple and when applying eyeliner remember to pull ur eye down with ur middle finger so it doesn't make wrinkles. when applying it apply it rite at ur lashline in short dashes. dont put on too much and use the smudger at the tip! it may look like not much in the mirror but it really does make ur eyes more defined:)Help!! Im 15 and am just starting to wear makeup and i have no idea what i should wear...Any application tips?
Just to start it off and also look pretty fresh, have nude lips by placing foundation all over your face and on top of your lips and slip on a clear balm or lip gloss whatever you prefer, and curl your eye lashes and put mascara on top lashes but a bit heavier on the bottom ones.

Then, on eye brows get whatever powder color you prefer and fill them in a bit.

    Then apply a light blush.

    It's edgy but simple :)

I do this all the time.Help!! Im 15 and am just starting to wear makeup and i have no idea what i should wear...Any application tips?
    Hi Sarah,

I'm Jasmine, all i have to say is if your starting to where makeup,

try not to where to much but for now just where alittle.

Like I just where eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss

but do whats best for you,

    it is your body.
    keep it real simple!

maybe a little eyeliner, and if you don't feel comfertable with that, even a real good mascara makes a big difference.

maybe a light eyshadow, depending on your eye color.

and definetly either bronzer or blush depending on your skin color.

    and always lipgloss;)
    Keep it simple.

    Eyeliner

    Mascara

    A bit of blush

    and Lip Gloss.

And if you have like bad skin/acne, foundation will help even out your skin/reduce the redness.

its fine as long as you clean it off everynight.

best way to do this is by cleansing your face :)Will daily application of makeup ruin my skin at 15?
Make-up isn't good for not only young skin, but any skin.

Just make sure that every morning and evening you cleanse and moisturise your face, nothing special.

And make sure you don't go too over the top, the definitly is a point in every girls life when they do.

You should be fine is you never go to bed with make-up on, make sure tis not too heavy and clean your skin.

And on the days when you are just at home don't wear any makeup, let your skin breathe for a day or so.

    -hope this helps hun
i don't really know what it'll do, but i know makeup isn't the greatest for your skin. i'm 16 and i always hear that i'm too young but it's like dude, it's my skin screw off i'll do what i want. i switched to bare minerals makeup recently and it's natural so it's good for your skin. if your parents will let you spend the extra money, i'd reccomend switching to that. as long as you don't sleep with it on and moisturize before and after, you shuold be fine.
I'm 14, and I wear make-up, but not a lot. I only wear eye liner and mascara. I don't think make-up will mess up your skin, if you take care of it. Don't let other people use it. Always wash it off before bed or use a make-up remover (vaseline works well). I put lotion on in the morning, before school, and at night, before bed. I use Neutrogena acne cream to cleanse my face, and clean off all the oil (twice a day). And thats about it. You said you don't have any pimples, so why use foundation? I think if anything ruins your skin, it would be foundation (espiecially cheap foundation). If its not really needed why use it? Or maybe you should just use less. Don't let anybody tell you that you should not where make-up, and it will ruin your skin. If it makes you feel, and look good then wear it.

    Good luck! =)
There's nothing wrong with artfully applied make-up. Just remember that less is always better when you are going for the natural look, because no one wants to look at make-up, they want to see your lovely face.

As long as you remove it each night and cleanse gently twice a day there's no reason make-up should hurt your face.

The sun is your skin's worst enemy at this or any age so you might look for a good quality make-up with a sunscreen to help protect your skin - especially since you have a fair complexion. And be careful applying with a sponge. Your fingertips are better. Sponges can collect bacteria that goes right into your pores.
Foundation with de-hydrate your skin to the point where you will become dependant upon it. Because when you see yourself without it you will be horrified and keep putting it on.
Your fine as long as you wash it off probably! Cleanse, tone and moisturize every morning and before you go to bed treat your skin with a facial mask once a week! Drink plenty of water, try to eat healthy it's OK to treat yourself once and a while!
apply moisturiser every night on to you face before you go to bed and you`ll repair your skin from all the make up

    Makeup application lessons?

I'm thinking about taking a makeup application lesson at the local spa. It costs $50, and money is a little tight right now, but is it worth it? If anyone has taken lessons like these, please let me know if I should bother or not.

I'm getting married in a month and was thinking about applying my own makeup, so the $ should be worth it instead of getting it applied professionally for the day.Makeup application lessons?
I would say if your the creative type and have patience and like trying out new things , and arn't afraid do it yourself since your money is tight as you say.

start with the book making faces. its will give you guide lines and different illustrations of eye shape face etc.. and you can try some of them out or do your own thing which is what i ended up doing . but i had no one to teach me as I grew up in a all male family and wasnt' allowed to even wear makeup till I moved out. So I went to the library and got the book and studied it to death and just tryed different styles each night till I found my own niche and made my own style.Makeup application lessons?
Well...if you get it done on your wedding day....like at a department store...at one of the makeup counters....it is usually free....50 dollars is a little expensive when you could probably find the same info online for free!
you should just go up to a makeup counter in a department store and say you don't know how to apply your make up for your wedding and they'll show you. it's free.
Sometimes places like Nordstrom or Macy's have days where they have makeup lessons for free or for a really cheap price. I've never tried makeup lessons, though. I've had my makeup done before and it really wasn't my style, but it wasn't too bad. I usually read magazines and try out their steps instead. Good luck!
why can't u just have a friend teach u? u could still pay them if u wanted to, but it would be a lot cheaper. It would also be more comfortable if a friend teaches u. Plus u won't have to pay for lessons or professional help. hope that helps.

    congrats on the wedding. d:)

How much does Professional makeup application cost?

In Canada or the U.S.?How much does Professional makeup application cost?
Alot of department store makeup counters will do them for free ! If your looking for a personal MUA it depends, some can range from $50 to $150 and hr .. It all depends on the occasion !How much does Professional makeup application cost?
It depends on what you're doing.

A lot of department store makeup counters will do a free makeover just to try to get you to buy makeup, but some won't do it unless you buy a minimum amount.

If you're looking for a specific occasion, I would go get a free one for fun and then maybe ask how much it would cost for a certain day.
well, i went black friday shopping, and my friend and i wanted to get it done. we went to the chanel counter(which was stupid cause we're only thirteen and cant afford their crap) and they said that it was free with the purchase of two of their products. im not sure about other places, but i thinks thats pretty much standard procedure
it depends on the quality..but if you schedule an appointment at sephora they'll give you one free!!

  • About how much is the average price for makeup application at a salon?

I need help!!! How much is the avg price for makeup application at a salon? Just some foundation, eyeshadow, and lip stick.

How much should I charge someone who wants me to do THEIR makeup?

    (Location: Arizona)

Thanks!! =)About how much is the average price for makeup application at a salon?
I am in AZ - went to a resort and paid $65 for a makeup application. They used high end mineral makeup. I think your price should reflect your materials and your skill. :)About how much is the average price for makeup application at a salon?
You can get FREE makeup consultations, and then choose to purchase the makeup that they sell if you like it.If you would like to get a hair and makeup package for a party, wedding or prom, it runs $60 and up.
    charge them 15 dollars!
On the West Coast (L.A.) you can get your make-up done by a make-up artist in the nicer department stores for $50-$60.

Many times they offer a ';Free'; make over, but be careful. Usually these are ';Lead Ins'; for sales.

In other words, it may be in fine print that you have to spend X amount of dollars buying their expensive make up in order to get the free make over. It always pays to ask questions before you sit down and let them do their thing.

Also be sure that the person doing the make up is an expert and not just one of the sales clerks.
When I was younger I was able to go to my local department store and have my makeup done for free. Stores like Nordstroms, JcPennys, Macy's - basically any place that sells ';make-up'; will give people make overs for free. Their goal is that you will like the application so much that you purchase the products that they used.

I have also been to a ';day spa'; and had my make-up done, (false eye lashes included) for $90.00. The make up that was used was all MAC and Bobby Brown, and if you know your makeup, you know that one tube of MAC lipstick is more than the cost of lunch for two!
For me, in NY it was $100 for full face and $150 for air brushing.
if you have a MAC in your mall or any where near you they do your make up if you spen 50.00$ or more on their cosmetics.

and they do it really nice too! :D

What would a step by step application of makeup in the 90's be?

I am currently doing a project on Era makeup and I am assigned to the 90's unfortunately I have been unable to find anything worth using, if anyone would be able to give me any type of information that would be greatly appreciatedWhat would a step by step application of makeup in the 90's be?
We were big on the black eyeliner, blue was out and peach tones were the thing for eye shades, foundation was a real problem for a lot of girls, it was always noticeable, and pinks for the lips, I'm not real sure how step by step you want but application hasn't changes too much over time just colors over time.

How can I create a computer application? What makeup language should I use (ie HTML, Java, C++)?

    Thanks for helping.

I'm really new to this, but I'd like to create a program that can form scales and chords on a guitar fretboard and a piano keyboard simply by clicking on the keys/frets.

What method should I use? I know it certainly won't be easy, but I'll have a lot of time on my hands soon unfortunately, so I have time to learn.

I would like to learn also because it'd definitely be good to learn for the future, both for other applications and for business or other career uses. It's just a good skill to have.

Any advice, suggestions, links, ANYTHING would be greatly appreciated. How can I create a computer application? What makeup language should I use (ie HTML, Java, C++)?
I took a coure in in Java programming, its ridicululsy hard to understand at first but then once you get it you get it and it goes much faster. It's like being thrown in another country and asked to learn the language just by being exposed to it - it's hard until it clicks. I used a program called Codewarrior, but you can get a free program online for Java called Jcreator Le, you can download it from CNET. You'll probably need a book on it to help you get started. I dont know how to do music, but Im guessing you'd have to import it from a source in your computer then put the import into the program. Good luck, it'll be hard but when it works it's like be the greatest feeling of accomplishment. How can I create a computer application? What makeup language should I use (ie HTML, Java, C++)?
Well, you'd most likely use C/++, but Java is appropriate also. If your using C/++ its simple to start. You get a compiler (http://gcc.gnu.org/ GCC is a great open source compiler). Beyond that, if you don't know the basics, there is plenty of free information on the net (http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/).

    Good luck!
If you use HTML, you can never create a computer application but you can create a web based application.

If you use c++ and java you can create an object oriented program, that can lead to computer application

If you use java, try using applet to create a GUI (graphical user interface)
    c# is the best

  • How long does it take for a MAC makeup application, in-store?

I know I can get my full face done in 10 min (foundation to lipgloss) but I was curious how long a MAC associate may take (trying to gauge time).....How long does it take for a MAC makeup application, in-store?
I would give it a good 30-45 minutes. Sometimes they have to help customers that need to buy something if there is not enough sales associates. I used to get my makeup done by MAC all the time. How long does it take for a MAC makeup application, in-store?
Make sure you make an appointment! Especially if it's on a Saturday, for prom, graduation, etc.

The others girls in your area who will be getting makeup done for the same event will have made appointments, and the associates who are there to help customers with products and might not have time to give you a full makeup application.

Do note that they will either charge a $45 fee or a minimum of two product purchases.
probably about 30 to 45 mins, shes gonna talk to you about the products she is using.

for a full face you need to make an appointment. you cant just walk in there.

its rude not to buy at least one of the products they use on you. so buy the lipgloss or something.
It fully depends on what look you are trying to acheive. With a basic application count on it being at least 30 mins. With something like a halloween look, or a specialty face chart it can take much longer.

    Best of luck!
There`s no such a thing, if you need your face to be fully made up, you need at least 30 minutes.

    Hope that helped.

    Good Luck.

    *****SENSITIVE SKIN CUCUMBER MASK

This mask is perfect for sensitive skin. Chill it in your fridge before use to make it especially soothing.

    Ingredients:

    1 tablespoon brewer's yeast

    1 tablespoon finely ground oatmeal

    1 whole cucumber

2 tablespoons plain yogurt or sour cream

    1 teaspoon honey

Mix together the yeast and oats in a small bowl and set aside.

Peel the cucumber and place it in a small food processor and process until only liquid remains. Add the yogurt and honey and process further to mix.

Add the brewer's yeast and oats to the cucumber/honey mixture and process to mix fully.

To use, apply to clean face and neck skin and leave on for anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour. Rinse well and follow with toner and moisturizer.

    *****COFFEE BODY SCRUB

2 cups of coarsely ground coffee

1/2 cup raw sugar or sea salt

    2-3 T massage oil

Mix all ingredients together. Take a hot shower to moisten your skin and open your pores. Using wide, circular motions, rub the coffee exfoliant onto your skin with strong, even pressure. Shower off, pat skin dry, and apply a thin layer of your favorite body lotion.

    *****Lemon Facial Mask

    2 tablespoons sour cream

    1 teaspoon finely ground oatmeal

    1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

    1 drop lemon essential oil

    Cucumber slices (optional)

Mix the sour cream, oatmeal, lemon juice and essential together in a bowl. To use, massage over clean face and neck skin and the rest for 10 minutes (with cucumber slices if you have them) over your eyes. Rinse well with warm water and follow with toner and moisturizer.

Always use Lemon Facial Mask immediately for best results -- the lemon juice will cause the sour cream to curdle if it is not used quickly.

Need A LOT of help with makeup application?

Alright so I'm seventeen and I've been using makeup for about 2 years. I've been trying to get that ';flawless'; face look, and i just can't. I've tried liquid foundation and now I'm planning to try mineral makeup from everyday minerals.

BASICALLY, what I want to know is how do I go about applying my makeup so it looks natural? How do I prep my skin, like what's a moisturizer, a toner and a primer? and do i use all three? what are the best brands that i get get at a local drug store or walmart/target?

is there any good liquid foundation out there that has a variety of colors? I have some blemishes so what's the best concealer?

i know I have a lot of questions so any help would be appreciatedNeed A LOT of help with makeup application?
The best way to prep your skin is to simply wash it with a face scrub. Pat it dry with a towel, and apply toner (makes your face brighter and refreshed) to your face and neck with a cotton ball. Just take the bottle and put some toner on the cotton ball (like you do with nail-polish remover). Then apply moisturizer (a lotion) to your face. You can use L'Oreal Futur-E; that's what I have, with SPF of at least 15.

Some good brand you can get at Walmart or Target (or CVS which has more variety) is probably REVLON, MAYBELLINE, RIMMEL, COVERGIRL, L'OREAL, ALMAY, N.Y.C., and tons more.

A good liquid foundation would probably be a REVLON or L'OREAL one because those brands are pretty popular AND affordable. Same with concealer (REVLON %26amp; L'OREAL)

To apply makeup, you can go to www.youtube.com to see different ways to put makeup on. For example, I learned how to apply blush from the tutorials that were provided.

Good luck and stay beautiful! =]Need A LOT of help with makeup application?
mosterizer is a face lotion get one tha tis oil free

toner closes up your pores so it doesnt get clogged by the make-up

primer is what you put on after the mosterizer and toner to keep your make on longer

    i personally looooove:

    covergirl for foundation(aqua smoothers)

almay for coverup(the one made for zits)

maybelline for loose powder, cream blush, and mascara
If you are going to go for the flawless look, good skincare is an absolute must. You definitely need a cleanser, but I prefer a soap-free one. I don't use toners, because all they do is strip all the oil off your skin-I prefer a nice scrub, as it strips excess oil but also helps get dead skin off and helps to clear out pores. Finally you want a good moisturizer, and you want to use a high SPF sunscreen every morning so that you can protect your skin from environmental damage. A primer is something that you put on after a moisturizer, or sometimes in place of a moisturizer. It helps to get the face ready for makeup application, so there are a lot of different ones-primers for shine control, for colour correction, and so forth. Primer is absolutely essential when you are doing mineral makeup.

When it comes to foundation, the technique and brush you use is very important. To get a flawless look, the best thing to do is get a little bit of liquid foundation on your hand, and then dip a stippling brush (one of the brushes that is black-fibered but with white tips-ULTA and Sephora have some, but the most famous is the MAC 187) into it. Tap it gently on the face, and then blend it all together. Also NEVER apply foundation before you do your eye makeup, as you can sometimes get what I call ';fallout'; from applying the eye colours and it's a lot easier to clean that up and do your whole face after the eyes, as opposed to having to do parts of the face twice.

As far as your best drugstore brand goes, the only one that I really trust is Revlon.
    hi.

i love make up i think its the most creative thing you can do to your personal appearance there is soo much to do... when your applying make up and it turns out blotchy and uneven try exfoliating with a granule exfoliater 2 times a week this removes any form of dead skin...

always use a moisturiser toner and eye gel before applying make up it will go on so much easier but make sure its fully soaked in... this could be another reason your make up isnt being flawless because your skin may be dehydrated.

i think the best concealer for blemishes (if they are red) a green concealer.. the green colour cuts out the red just try not to get it on your skin that isnt red and blend it in well with a sponge or your fingers. and use a concealor under your eyes too to cover any shaddows this will also help even skin tone out.

i recommend loreal colour match you can get from department stores

and the lady behind the counter should be able to recognise your skin type and match you with a colour that best fits your skins tones.

    hope this helps :)

Dire need of help in makeup application!?

I'm 23 (yeah, i'm THAT old! and still in dire need of.....) with jet black, wavy hair and a dark olive complexion. So I've got these yellow undertones and can tan easily to bronze. My features are regular, but I could say that my eyes look the best because they have more than a few dark lashes (I could pass out to be wearing mascara or eyeliner on my good days). My face is round and my lips are not easily missed either (they're THERE and are about 2 shades darker than my skin) and warm colours such as orange and dirty yellow suit me.

Well, the problem is that I'm a klutz when it comes to makeup. I am known to just sit and admire those pretty ones who wear pretty makeup to the point that strangers might question me. I have no access to department store makeup artists because we don't have that kinda thing where I'm from. So, please?

Also, what can I do with my hair? I wanna keep the colour, but I'm bored with the regular half and full ponytails.Dire need of help in makeup application!?
Go to covergirl.com get an account and go to ';tips'; that will tell you ALL you need to know about colors and application, believe me I was a makeup diaster b4 I found this site!

Quick tips for your skin tone: Lips;Olive skin looks best in light browns with warm tones, or dark brownish-reds. Stay away from pinks or orange-reds.

I need new makeup! Who offers the best advice as far as makeup application and product type is concerned?

I don't wear makeup on a daily basis (homemaker) but when I do, I feel like it looks muddy or overdone. I currently use Bobbi Brown foundation, loose powder, eye liner, etc. Is it possible my makeup is old or expired? Or is it user error? Where can I go to learn how to get a fresh, ';five minute face?'; I live in Austin, TX. But we have all the usual players in town, MAC, Bobbi Brown, etc. Or am I aiming too high? It's been so long since I have shopped for make up (in the grocery store). Perhaps there are products out there that work great and don't cost a lot???I need new makeup! Who offers the best advice as far as makeup application and product type is concerned?
Makeup definitely expires. If your foundation is more than a year old, chuck it. Lipsticks are probably the only cosmetic that you can keep for more than a year, but if it starts to smell funny - chuck it!

Any of the makeup counters can help you with getting the 'five minute face' and 'fresh' is what makeup is all about this spring. One of the current hot looks is peach or coral lipstick and gold eyelids. Super hot and super easy!

I am definitely a product slut with high-end taste. Currently, I am addicted to NARS because their eyeshadows and lipsticks are just saturated in color and I LOVE it. For a very quick face, though - check out Mineral Makeup. I love bareMinerals, but I think the L'oreal Bare Naturale line is less messy.I need new makeup! Who offers the best advice as far as makeup application and product type is concerned?
ok I love make up. loose powder from mac could be good I think that sum Mac products are to heavy for summer. I use sephore brand and they got make up there called Make up forever, I love it and there is someone to help you and they do make up for free. or if you want light and organic Aveda. hope it helps. I think that is your best bet.
Don't bother with make-up. I reckon that people shouldn't jugde you by what you look like but your personality. So what is the point. It is a waste of money.

  • Order of application for makeup?

    i wear the following makeup:

    cover up

    foundation

    mascara

    eye shadow

    lip stain/gloss

what order do i apply these in?

also, do you have any tips as to how to do my makeup really quickly in the morning? because i like to wake up as late as i can, but when i try to do my makeup quickly, i always smudge eyeshadow and get mascara all over my eyes.Order of application for makeup?
    Here's how I apply them:

    1) Foundation

    2) Eye shadow

    3) Mascara

    4) Powder (optional)

    5) Concealer

    6) Lip products

Once you get the hang of your makeup routine, you can get it down to 10 minutes or less. I start getting ready an hour before I have to leave, that way I can take my time and if I mess up, I have time to fix it. If you sleep in, just apply what you need. Tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara and concealer-this is quick and easy and you can apply more if you have the time.Order of application for makeup?
On the face, I apply all the 'wet' stuff first, concealer on blemishes, my foundation, then my undereye concealer, then a setting powder, my blush, and my contour...this gives you a clean palette for everything.

Next is eye primer and then your shadow after the primer has set up. Next, dust off any excess and take care of any touch-ups, then do lipstick and gloss.

I always save liner and mascara until the very end so I can get the best life out of the wear. Also, if you do mascara before shadow, dust from the shadow will stick to the base of your freshly-coated lashes, looks sorta yucky in my opinion. I'll set my liner with a dark shadow at the very end and I'm all set.

As far as doing makeup quickly, just keep it simple. A tinted moisturizer in the morning will look natural and save you a concealer %26amp; powder step...a sweep of your favorite blush or bronzer over your eyes will serve as a pretty shadow, a flick of mascara and lip-balm and you're golden.

    Best of luck =]
    Foundation

A full face of foundation can feel heavy, so instead of applying it all over, touch up only those areas where your skin tone appears uneven.

    Concealer

Choose a concealer that is long wearing or gives medium to full coverage in a shade that's close to you skin tone.

    Blush

To choose the right color for a subtle look, find a shade that's similar to the inside of your lip.

    Eye Shadow

A neutral shade acts as a base and will instantly brighten eyes. Use one with a bit of sparkle for a more festive look.

    Mascara

No matter what your hair and skin combo is, use black mascara. It will define your eyes and make you appear more wide awake.

    Lipstick

Try a moisture-rich formula so your lips don't dry out. (The inner-lip trick for choosing blush works for lipstick shades, too.)
i use the same products and do my make up in about 10 minutes, neatly too...so try it like this:

    1. dab FOUNDATION on both cheeks, forehead, nose and chin (spread like lotion evenly)

    2. EYESHADOW is next, line the lid with the darker shade and as you go up lighten shades evenly

    3. do not go too heavy on the MASCARA, a quick coat then curl them with a lash curler for a fuller look (but you dont want to take attention away from the eye or eyeshadow color)

    4. now use the powder COVER UP to go over any blemishes or dark spots and to blend your eyeshadow with your skin

    5. finally a pink or peachy LIP GLOSS will add color to your lips and add that extra touch

    ***hope this helps!
Well I like to MOISTURIZE first! Then I use my powder foundation (easy and dosn't need as much time for blending and such) and then cover up where I need it, followed by a quick brush of bronzer, then I curl my lashes and then I use eyeshadow. Then I apply 2-4 coats of mascara. I then use lip gloss. My routine takes about 10 minutes. I like to keep Q-tips handy for little mistakes with my mascara. Curling your lashes is a fast and easy way to look more alert and make your lashes stand out.
the big debate: to use cover up or foundation first.... some ppl like cover up first b'c the foundation blends it in... but can also wipe off some of the concealer when u apply foundation of u use too much concealer when you don't need to

    personally, i do foundation 1st

here's my 'full face' routine (10 min):

    moisturizer/sunscreen

    prime

    foundation

    cover up

    setting powder

    contour

    blush

    eyeshadow

    liner

    mascara

    lips
foundation (always first, helps the coverup stay longer)

    cover up

    eyeshadow

mascara (careful not to ruin you shadow with this muck, so lean your head back when applying)

lip stain/gloss (stain is first, gloss, then blot)
    cover up

    foundation

    eyeshadow

    mascara

    lip stain/gloss/balm
    concealer

    foundation

    eyeshadow

    mascara

    lip gloss
You got it in the right order already.
the order is right, and just get up a little earlier
Analyze your skin to see what type of skin you have: oily, combination, normal, dry, etc. Many cosmetic counters have someone there that can do a preliminary analysis of your skin, and recommend some products. If you are on a budget, see what the professional at the cosmetic counter recommends, then go to your local drug store and find a similar product for way less money!

Start with a freshly-washed face (and hands, too). Get a facial, or do one yourself. You want your face to be a clear and smooth canvas for you, the ';artist,'; to do your art. Use a good deep-cleansing mask. Do not exfoliate if you have oily or sensitive skin. It will spread bacteria around your face from the already existing blemishes. Use antibacterial soap if you have acne. Also be sure that you replace the towel you use to dry your face every week. Lastly, apply toner by taking a cotton pad that has been dampened in warm water and sweep it over your face. Toner will restore the pH level of your skin and pick up any remaining dirt.

Massage a light moisturizer into your face no matter what type skin you have, avoiding the eye area! This will help oily skin dry, and dry skin become smoother. Wait a few minutes for it to soak into your skin. After letting it sit for a while, rinse face with warm water, and pat dry.

Apply a sheer foundation that matches your skin tone.

To find the right one, go to the makeup counter at a local department store and have the artist there help you.

Wear illuminator to make your skin appear youthful and dewy compared with dull, matte makeup. Skin illuminators come in powder, cream, mousse, etc. L'Or茅al, Revlon, Neutrogena, and other brands make them - it's like make up with tiny particles that reflect light.

Use a makeup sponge or wedge, starting around the hairline and working your way down. (Use the wedge for this routine because you can be more precise about where the make up goes.) If you want a proper look that looks as if it has been done by a professional makeup artist, try using a foundation brush.

Remember to apply the makeup all the way down to your throat area and keep blending so you can't see where the make up ends. Nothing is worse than looking like you have a mask on your face!

Around the eye area, do very light strokes inward, toward the inner corner of your eye. Don't apply it to your upper eyelid! All of the professional makeup artists say not to apply foundation to this area. This is why you need a foundation that matches your skin. If you want foundation to darken your skin then try putting it above your eyes, and see what you like. Be gentle with this part, because the skin is very delicate and sensitive here.

Remember to blend all the makeup into your hairline. (but not so that your hair is another color!)

Apply concealer to any red or discolored spots. In the corners of your eyes, where it's blue, and around the nostrils are good places for this. Do this after applying foundation, so you don't use too much (many makeup artists do this the other way around). First apply the concealer, then pat very lightly with your finger to blend. Only apply concealer to the area that you want to conceal. Afterwards, use the wedge to blend the concealer in with the foundation. Stand back away from your mirror to see if you have effectively concealed the areas. Try to stand about the distance away from the mirror that you stand away from people when you talk to them. Another way to conceal blemishes is to pat green concealer on the blemishes and red spots, then put foundation over top (the green reduces redness).

Apply a loose powder all over the face using a powder brush. Pat it into the powder; then, with a paper towel, tap the brush so the excess falls off the brush. Lightly brush across the whole face. Use a powder puff (small) to apply powder on the upper lid. Apply a bronzer to your forehead, cheeks, and chin, to give a sun-kissed look,if wanted.#If you don't have much cheekbones you can contour your face, to do so you will need a brown tone of powder, don't make it ultra brown, but a milk-chocolatey kind of color. Apply a it on the brush and apply it under your cheek bones, starting from the temple and going down until underneath the apple of your cheek. Don't make it too abvious as it's meant to look like a shadow, and voila! You have cheek bones!

Highlight your brow bone and cheek bones by applying a light powder just below the brow, and to the highest part of your cheek.

Apply a small amount of blush to the apples of your cheeks. Smile so you can see the apple of your cheek. Start the application at the apple and drag the blush outward toward your temple, following your cheek bone. Blend the color down a bit below your cheekbone in towards your earlobe.

If you added too much color to the brush, use the clear side of your wedge to blend it in more until the color is faded out a bit. Your cheeks should have a hint of color. You don't want to look like a clow

Choosing a base for makeup application?

I am aware that using a base/primer when applying eyeshadow and makeup is essential. I just am not exactly sure what to use, for the time being I am using moisturizing lotion. I am not sure if this is proper, or even safe for use around my eyes. It helps the eyeshadow stick really well though. If any one could let me know of a good, legit makeup base that I could purchase I would greatly appriectiate it! Points for best answer!Choosing a base for makeup application?
Napoleon peris? i dont remember.. but there is a primer with vitamins and it is recommend by models and Ive used it and its works really well it helps the foundation go on easier and smootherChoosing a base for makeup application?
Smashbox. There are two that work, if you are acne prone, go for the clear one, if not... the white.

Paint brushes used for makeup application?

So I am in desperate need for new brushes, both eye and face brushes.

What I am looking for: Eye brushes to stock up on, maybe a few face brushes (I don't wear foundation anymore, although I am looking for a nice pressed powder foundation suitable for oily/combo acne prone sensitive skin - any suggestions?), a brush similar to the 187 to apply moisturizer to my face.

Because my skin is sensitive, animal bristles cause a lot of irritation. I can use them however on my eyes, as irritation is minimal to non-existent.

I was watching a few youtube vids where they mentioned using paint brushes for makeup. Does anyone do this? The one brand that was mentioned most was Loew Cornell, and I would love to go check those out seeing as they are way more affordable and are (apparently) softer than MAC brushes. Anyone use these?

So, for anyone that uses paint brushes, what are your recommendations? And do NOT suggest MAC, because I will thumbs down your answer is anyone suggests it!

Also, has anyone ever used EcoTools or Sicara brushes?Paint brushes used for makeup application?
Loew cornell brushes are good for packing on eyeshadow color but they are pretty stiff. I personally don't use them so I don't know much =P however I must say, Eco tools brushes are great! And sicara brushes are even better! Sicara brushes are so soft! And I'm sure it's synthetic hair because it doesn't have that smell that animal hair brushes have. I don't know what kind of eye brushes you want so I can't tell u much on that. And if you are looking for something similar to the 187 and u live in Canada, I must suggest you go to shoppers drug mart and pick up a quo bronzing powder brush ( I think that's what it's called... You'll know when you see it cuz it looks just like the 187) I don't own one so I don't know what kind of hair it's made of... its $22.50 CAN I think... If u live in the us I have no clue where to get quo brushes, sorry. My only other suggestion is to order online from coastal scents or sigma...though I don't know much about the brushes from those two places.

Hope I helped!Paint brushes used for makeup application?
i've never heard of doing that but it would probably work really well. especially for eyeliner. i have oily/combination skin too and i also have acne prone skin (annoying isn't it?). i have actually used a couple of eco tools brushes and they work good for me. i have their eyeliner brush and their foundation brush and their really soft and easy to clean.
I would try Sigma brushes. They are just as good quality as Mac's brushes, and they have animal hair AND synthetic. Plus they are SO much cheaper than Macs. They are softer than Mac's brushes too. You should check them out.
CVS has makeup brushes called Essence of Beauty. They are really soft and good quality. Plus, they're cheap.

Target also has the Sonia Kashuk line of brushes. They're awesome.
i agree With out.. mac is terrible for brushes and its expensive. and yes, paint brushes do work, but make sure that they are soft and for you, not animal fur. and Loew Coell isn't exactly the best, just go into a shop like The Works... fine the softest, right size brush and they are usualy the cheapest. is you dont have 'The Works' shop near you then any crafts shop will do. but buying desinger paint brushes will probaly be more expensive than make up brushes, so keep them cheap, they wont be the best, but they still work perfectly good :) i hope ive helped
i actually bought paint brushes cuz i had no money at all to afford the brushes at the retail stores like sephora%26amp;ulta ...

yeah they do work but not all brushes are as soft there are a couple that are all dry and rough but then again i forget they are paint brushes.

If you do decide to get them make sure you get the brushes that are silky looking not as rough...

I don't know why i bought the one but i did.

the only brushes i bought were brushes that were mainly for eyeshadow

so i couldn't tell you how the brushes for you're face will work .

Go online like Michael's,joannes or any craft store that has a website and find out what the bristles are made out of i do believe the ones i got are animal hair i just forget what kind...
I would NOT recommend using paint brushes as makeup brushes. There is a reason why they are different than makeup brushes, and thats because, yes, the bristles are harder, and do irritate most peoples skin.

As for Loew Cornell, ehh...If they were actually better and softer than MAC brushes, you would think that they would be MUCH more popular than they are, and, more expensive. Right? Yeah. For some of the YouTube people that recommend those brushes, they may just be receiving money to give the product good reviews. Either way, I would maybe buy one cheap eye shadow brush, see how it is, and then if you like it, buy more!

For the brush you want to use to apply moisturizer with, I would say, save your money, and use your hands! Moisturizer is meant to be put on with your hands, not a brush, so save a buck!

Oh, and for the pressed powder, my personal favorite is MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder. This is geared more towards putting over liquid foundation to reduce oiliness, so if you want one thats more geared towards being a actual foundation, I would recommend the Cover Girl Tru Blend Powder. Its amazing, too!

Finally, I have tried EcoTools, and although MAC is my favorite for brushes, EcoTools is amazing too! They are super soft, cheap, and you can also buy sets of them, to get a good deal! I would definitely recommend Eco Tools brushes over paint brushes (Loew Cornell).

Hope I helped %26amp; Good Luck!

    xoxo,

    Erica

I need help with makeup application and brands?

Hi I'm 14 years old and I don't wear makeup. This is mainly because of the bad reactions I seem to have while wear it. The reactions include swelling and welts. My friends recommended clinque.. what do you think? I included some pictures of me in hopes that you would have ideas about what colors would work on me. By the way, my eyes are very unique. They're DARK green. I have freckles pretty much everywhere, which I don't mind.. I'd actually prefer if they weren't covered up. Oh and I don't have any acne or skin blemishes (I've never had them). Good genes I guess. So feel free to look at those and tell me your thoughts. Application tips are welcome, as always (=

Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing your suggestionsI need help with makeup application and brands?
Because you seem to react badly to makeup, I suggest using products specifically designed for sensitive skin and also try to look at the ingredients to see anything that might be making you react.Clinique is known for being hypo-allergenic so their products might work with your skin.

I would start out with basic things and then work your way into a full face. Mascara, neutral shadows, blush, and lipgloss is a good starting point. But if you won't to go all in I would recommend pinks and purples to compliment your eyes.I need help with makeup application and brands?
You could try a tinted moisturizer which has light coverage I would recommend department stores brands like Clinique or Dior. Your cheeks are naturally red so I wouldn't recommend blush maybe a bronzer. Some mascara would look nice too and curl your lashes. And by the way I think your eyes are hazel.
My grand daughter just googled videos and put in make up application for teens and found several good videos.

As for make up you really need to talk to your Dr first and find out if you have any medical issues that make up could iritate before using make up.

I would however suggest dark brown mascara for day, and limit black mascara for special occasions, use a light color lipstick, like peach or pinks, you really don't need cover up, but if your going to wear anything find a good powder that you can re-apply thru-out the day easily.

    Need help with makeup application?

Alright so I'm seventeen and I've been using makeup for about 2 years. I've been trying to get that ';flawless'; face look, and i just can't. I've tried liquid foundation and now I'm planning to try mineral makeup from everyday minerals.

BASICALLY, what I want to know is how do I go about applying my makeup so it looks natural? How do I prep my skin, like what's a moisturizer, a toner and a primer? and do i use all three? what are the best brands that i get get at a local drug store or walmart/target?

is there any good liquid foundation out there that has a variety of colors? I have some blemishes so what's the best concealer?

i know I have a lot of questions so any help would be appreciatedNeed help with makeup application?
I will try my best to answer all your questions the best i can:)

Ok first with foundation.. Lancome liquid foundation has REALLY good foundations.. take my word for it. it lasts long and they give you the flawless look. I use Color idea (its about 40 bucks.. i know expensise BUT WORTH IT..if you think how much you spend on a bunch of the cheap kinds when you can stick with one really good expensive one) But im sure the other lancome foundations work really well to. i hear photogenic works great.

heres the link to lancome foundations: http://www.lancome-usa.com/makeup/founda鈥?/a>

the one i use is the skinny tall bottle with a black lid. (second page i think)

If you want to go for a more natural look try a tinted moisturizer.

To make your face makeup last longer get a primer. Put about the size of a dime all over your face before you put on foundaion or tinted moisturizer. Theres tinted moisturizers with toners in them. (try laura mercier) So you wont have to do that.. primers and toners basicially work the same so you dont necessarily have to use both. i use toner after i wash my face.Need help with makeup application?
Well first take a skin color concealer and put that on all of your flaws or parts of skin that are different colors. Then blend the outside of each mark into your skin. Then take any normal foundation and put that on. To make it look even better, you can put mineral powder on over that.
    I always get compliments on my natural looking make-up, so here's what I do';

-Apply a face lotion (whatever brand is best for your skin, experiment) onto a make-up sponge and apply to your entire face.

-Apply Maybelline pure makeup foundation to the sponge to your face (use sparingly, you can always add more, but you really don't need a lot)

-Cover up blemishes with liquid concealer (I use Neutrogena)

-If you have dark blue circles under your eyes, conteract it by dabbing a sheer red lipstick to the area, and THEN covering with flesh colored concealer.

-If you have red spots from acne, etc, conteract it by dabbing a green concealer to the spot and then put on concealer.

-To make sure it stays without looking cakey, brush on Neutrogena healthy skin blends.

-Brush a sheer pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks (smile to find them).

-Curl your lashes and brush on ONE coat of black mascara. Anymore and it will be too heavy for daytime.

-Use neutral toned eyeliners like brown, stay away from black because people always over do it when it comes to black.

-Slick on a sheer pink gloss

Can i learn makeup application from just books?

Last year i took a makeup seminar i wont mention the name of the school but it was A WASTE OF MY MONEY!!!! $1500.00 for the class and i did not learn much...the class was so fast paced! Well i was planning on signing up in another school and start from scratch taking a basic class, but the school is $900 for a 2 week course...i really dont want to throw my money away again. a freelance makeup artist that i know told me that he learned from books and practicing on friends. Can it be possible that you learn more from books than taking an actual class???Can i learn makeup application from just books?
I would use books and get some Blank Face Charts .. Practice makes perfect :)Can i learn makeup application from just books?
Log on to makeupgeek.com she has numerous tutorials.

Also log on to youtube and if there is a particular colour you want to experiment with do a search in youtube. ie ';purple eyeshadow'; or ';purple smokey eyes'; for example; youtube will display numerous tutorials using purple eyeshadow.

    This the same for any type of makeup application ie ';How to apply foundation';

    This all free.
Wow that is expensive! Forget the book.

Just look on youtube! There are tons of ';how-to'; videos.

Go to www.youtube.com and search for MAKEUP TIPS

Here's one for smokey eye makeup:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCnJ8B0Ay鈥?/a>
i would definetely recommened using books!

It doesnt matter which ones, just any makeup books that you can get your hands on really, they'll all probably have the same tips and techinques but it wont hurt to read them all!

Also, there are some REALLY good tutorials on youtube that you could have a nosey at too... often you can read something over and over and it wont make sense but as soon as ou WATCH it, it totally clicks into place! I would highly recommend 'Sarah Victor makeup tutorials'...

ANd yeah, if you can practise on friends then thats great! Dont forget... you can also practise on yourself too! Especially handy when trying out something for the first time..

And if it seems like you cant pick things up, the main key to learning how to apply makeup is practise practise practise! Something you can do the same thing over and over and you wont get the desired result and only the most smallest change can transform it all!

PS - $1500 was a totaly rip off!!!

Before buying books, try checking out your local library, and see if the books are any good... Theyre usually in the lifestyle secttions along with diy and arts and crafts.. ;)

ANYTHING by bobbi brown! I started off reading ';bobbi browns teenage beauty'; and worked my way up.

    Good luck!
try reading lots of tutorials for different kinds of looks at places like specktra.net or on youtube.

and yeah read books from makeup artists like bobbi brown etc, so you know contouring techniques etc etc.

i think depending on the instructor makeup classes can be a real waste of money. you can learn a lot by going to the MAC makeup counter or somewhere else and asking for them to do a full makeup on you. have them explain the why and how of each step. then you can do it yourself.

Part of the way makeup looks is based on your skin. If you have oily skin, then a powder foundation like Everyday Minerals would be good, but if you have dry skin, a liquid foundation would be better. If you have normal skin, use whichever one you want.

To get a nice, even application, you need to exfoliate every couple of days (maybe every 2-3 days) and after you wash and tone your face, moisturize your skin. Toner is a product that sort of gets any left over stuff off of your face and tightens up your pores and a moisturizer is basically lotion for your face (don't use regular lotion though, it can clog your pores and cause acne). A primer is a product that goes on before you put on other makeup to help it stay in place longer. There are basically three kinds of primers: face, eyes, and lip.

Moisturizer: my favorite moisturizer right now is one from Olay in a little pink jar, but it's scented, so if that's an issue you might not like it

Toner: I don't really use a toner all the time, but sometimes if I feel like it I use Witch Hazel.

Primer: Rimmel Fix and Perfect or Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer.

There are lots of foundations out there that have lots of colors, it sort of depends on what you need. I like Revlon's Color Stay foundation or L'Oreal's True Match foundation (because it's separated by undertones). If you have a problem with blemishes I'd go for the Revlon Color Stay because it has full coverage, which means that it covers up everything so you won't really even need a concealer. But in case you do still want a concealer, I believe Revlon carries one in the Color Stay line as well. Good luck!(Any makeup artist out there?) I need help with makeup application?
here are the basic steps in make up application every girl has to follow;)

cleanse your face (which is basically washing all the dirt off your face with a facial wash), tone (i don't exactly know how to explain what a toner is to you..but it makes your skin feel refreshed and closes up open pores i think. anyway just use it it's cooling and feels great on your skin haha), moisturize (moisturizers provide your skin with the moisture you're lacking, it's very important cause drying out skin will make your skin age a lot faster. moisturizers always make your skin look a day younger! and also it gives your make up something to stick to so that it doesn't just slide off a few hours after application ESPECIALLY if you have oily skin like i do), apply primer (primers are the base of your make up. very wise investment! absolutely must have if you want to achieve a flawless look. primers give your make up a much more professional finish and creates much longer lasting effects. a point to note: apply primer 10-15 mins AFTER the moisturizing stage so that you give your skin enough time for the moisture to set in before you proceed!), foundation, concealer, and finally set your make up with a loose powder (also keeps your make up on for longer periods of time).

it's best if you use all three (primer, moisturizer and toner). but some people skip the priming. i recommend you do all three.

i can see from your question that you're not looking for an expensive make up brand like MAC, Bobbi Brown etc. but if you want any recommendations on their best products feel free to ask!

Revlon is probably the best regular drugstore brand you can find. Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation works really well! i alternate between this and MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation. revlon colorstay has great coverage that is comparable to MAC's and it doesn't blow a hole in your pocket. so you probably wanna get your hands on one of those;)

as for primers, i heard Revlon's face primer works fine too (but i've yet to try it so i can't help you on this one hun!). but i would definitely have to tell you that MAC Prep + Prime and Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer are AMAAAZING. goddesses of primers! trust me i've tried and tested both.

i use Dove face wash and Nivea Visage Refreshing Toner - a couple of other regular drugstore brands that do the job well.

MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation has a variety of colors but some people don't like the yellowish color it has. Revlon's colorstay (the one i mentioned above) on the other hand offers a whole range of shades so there's one of everyone.

not sure which drugstore brand moisturizers or concealers to recommend you as i use MAC only. sorry!

    well i hope that helped

    Uneven eyelids, makeup application help?

I have one double eyelid and the other isn't, and it's hard for me to apply make-up evenly. I can't use eyeshadow because, well, it's just unnoticable on one of the eyes, I can't line my top eyelid with eyeliner for the same reasons. And I can't even apply mascara because it doesn't look even, one set of lashes is longer than the other.

The only picture I have as an example is a really old picture of myself from like, three years ago.

Your eyes look pretty even to me. I know we all find our faults and emphasize them. You should really read the book Bobbi Brown Beauty. She talks a lot in the beginning about accepting and finding beauty in your ';flaws.'; I think you would like it a lot.

Since you have trouble creating symmetrical eyes, keep your look simple. Put a light color on your lids, line your eyes with a medium color, and highlight your brow bone with a light shade. Defining the crease and things like that should be avoided.Uneven eyelids, makeup application help?

What makeup application tips do you live by?

For instance, when I have a huge zit I rub a little spot treatment over it, then concealer with acne medicine in it. Even though the spot treatment is white, the concealer and foundation cover it up.

Also I swear by my Sephora crease eyeshadow brush, I use it to blend after applying all 3 shades! What makeup application tips do you live by?
When I put mascara on, I use a credit card to put under my eye. This way, I get the mascara on my credit card, and not on the skin underneath. What makeup application tips do you live by?
i love my sephora brush too! definitely for the zits don't try to hide that it's there, just cover the redness or it'll look like you have a mountain of make-up on. also, are you wearing 3 shades of shadow everyday??? try laying off a little... get a neutral peach or light pink to sweep over your lid and leave it just at that. sounds like you spend a lot of time on your routine everyday.
The best make-up tool I have used is a Hot Pink make-up sponge called beauty blender. My sis gave it to me for christmas!! I love wearing make-up, however latex sponges waste my foundation and applying make-up with my fingers isn't very healthy for my skin as I am prone to breakouts.. The sponge comes with a cleanser.....An actual cleanser for the sponge, it smells wonderful too and I do use it to clean my other make-up tools. It removes make-up so well that you wouldn't even know that the sponge was used!!!! It lasts up to 3 months maybe longer depending how often you use it. You can buy it online at beautyblender.com.au
