Any tips on makeup application?

Overrall with all makeup I find it extremely hard to apply makeup so how do I apply:

foundation-(liquid, powder and cream)

concealer

lipcolor-gloss, stick, and liner

blush

eyecolor-shadow liner and mascara

and how can I use different ways of applying to get more intense or softer looks.Any tips on makeup application?
LIQUID FOUNDATION: Using a sponge or fingers blend thoroughly either only on forehead, nose, chin, and cheekbones or all over

Powder: Using a fairly big BLUSH brush use the powder on forehead, nose, and chin, too much or applying it other places will make you look dry

cream: applying sparingly with fingers or sponge the same as you would with liquid (look above)

concealer: using fingers put a little bit on blemishes or dark circles and tap to blend-DON'T RUB! if you rub you'll just wipe the concealer away.

Using the wand (if it comes with one), a lipbrush, or your fingers put a little gloss either just in the center of the lips or all over

blush: suck your cheeks in and using a blush brush starting in the center of your face going outwards sweep the blush either on the part that sticks out or the part that goes in when you suck you cheeks in.

eyeshadow: using your fingers, a little applicator, or a q-tip spread a medium shade on your eyelid, a dark color in the part that creases when your eyes are open normally, and a light color on the bone underneath your eyebrow

Liner: Here are the steps it takes

1. Loose Powder on your top and bottom eyelids to make the liner stick

2. When drawing the lines put your elbow on a table, counter or other hard surface to keep hands from shaking.

3. Start by doing the line on your top lash line. Don't start right in the corner look your reflection straight in the eye and either where your iris starts from the inner corner or right in the middle of your iris.

4. Draw a line either in short feathery strokes to get a light color or in one long glide to get a darker color.

5. repeat steps 3 and 4 for your bottom lash line

Optional:

1. After you draw the top line you can exceed your eye, no more then 1/4 of an inch, to give a little more attitude

2. You can make the top line a little thicker to make your eyes pop more

3. You can also blend the line a little bit to look more natural and smoky.

mascara: hold the wand on top of the outer corners of lashes and slowly sweep through.Any tips on makeup application?
Be as natural as you can be... I use L'oreal Ture Match powder.... concealer I dont use, its for dark circles under the eyes.. I use a lip-liner(lt. pink) then a lip paint. it will not wear off.(L`oreal/ walmart) then I apply lip gloss to the middle part only of the upper and lower lips. It will create a pouty look.. Blush, I dont use during the day... eye color, use lightly during the day and darker at night..(at night time apply make-up darker than normal, except foundation..) eyeliner I apply on top lid over shadow and bottom lid just under the lash.. (apply darker at night).. mascara, apply light during day and thicker(a couple of coats) at night... You can ';touch up'; foundation around noon with a foundation brush, with a light coat of powder foundation...
Well first things first. Get you some brushes. They can even be cheap eye shadow brushes from target but I paid $20 for my foundation brush from sephora.

Anyways, with foundation, I use liquid and I put it on a little plate and then dab my brush in it and then make marks all over my face, I then even and smooth it out with the brush. I then take a sponge and go over any imperfections.

For eyes, get the eye shadow brush and get some shadow on it. Tap the brush about 2 or 3 times to get access shadow off of it and then start to cover your lower lid with the shadow you chose.

With closs, it's just like putting on carmex or something. Make sure it stays within your lipline and you are good to go.

That should be enough for starters. Good luck
It's really difficult to explain techniques on here, and the best way to learn would be to go to a professional. Most mall cosmetic counters will do consultations for free, and show you how to apply different products. They will also help you with choosing the right colors for your skin tone.

If doing this is for some reason not an option, then the best rule to live by is to enhance your natural beauty rather than try to cover things up.

foundation- The easiest foundation to apply is a powder foundation, though this gives you minimal coverage. These foundations will usually come with an application pad, and you basically just rub some of the powder onto the pad, and then pat it around on your face. Make sure that you blend the make-up in well around the edges of your face and down your neck a little, so as to avoid make-up lines.

A liquid foundation will give you medium coverage, and is relatively easy to apply, although it can be harder to blend. When I use this foundation, I put a dab about the size of a pencil eraser on my finger, and put it in dots around my face. Then, you can use a make-up sponge to blend it in ( always doing upward strokes. Downward strokes pull on your skin and cause wrinkles later in life)

A cream foundation is usually going to give you heavy coverage and a very matte look. It has the advantage of making your skin look very even, but if applied wrong, it will just look streaky and sometimes even increase the uneven-ness of your skin. In my opinion, the best way to apply cream foundations is with a foundation brush, although most foundations will include a make-up sponge when you buy them. The sponges tend to apply the make-up too thickly, which does not look good. When using a brush, just get a little bit of the make-up on the tip and brush it onto your face using light, upward strokes. When your entire face is lightly covered, you can use the make-up sponge to blot it and blend it a little bit, for an over all matte, even finish.

concealer- this is something that I wouldn't bother with, unless you are prone to having shadows under your eyes or have very very uneven skintone. NEVER use concealor to cover up blemishes, as it will just make the blemish look flaky and matted with make-up. It does not hide it. When applying concealor below the eyes, use very very little, and put it under your foundation. I prefer the liquid concealors. Just dab a very small amount under your eyes, and PAT it in. Do NOT rub it in when you are under the eye, because this skin is very delicate and prone to wrinkling later in life.

lipcolor- the latest styles for lip color are very sheer and nude, and don't require you to use a lip liner, but if you are going for a dramatic, more matte look, liner is great. Just outline your lips with a color that is just slightly darker than your natural lip color, or your lipstick. Now, most people don't know this, but... you should then lightly FILL IN your lips with the liner. Then apply your lipstick over , after the liner has dried for a minute. Still, as I said earlier, this dramatic look is not really in style right now (unless of course you're going RED, lol) The easiest, most natural looking thing to do is to just stick with a neutral shade of tinted lip gloss. Go for a champagne color, as this looks good on everyone, and one with a little sparkle to it makes it fun, and can make your lips look fuller.

eye make-up- When doing eye make-up, apply your liner first. Please don't mess with all of the brightly colored liners, unless it's halloween. If you have a paler skin tone, I would stick with a light or dark brown, depending on how dramatic you want your eyes to be. If you have an olive complexion, it's okay to go with black, although this can sometimes be a little much for day-time make-up looks.

Eyeliner Application: start at the outward corner of your bottom lashline. Do a thin line three quarters of the way to the inner corner. For a more dramatic look, you can thicken the line toward the outside and let it taper in toward the inner corner. Play with it and see what looks best with your eye shape. For the top lash line, get as close to the lashes as you can, and draw very lightly (lighter than on the bottom) starting from the outside corner again. Do not go all the way to the inner corner, just like on the bottom. Smudge both the top and the bottom a little with your finger or a q-tip.

Eyeshadow- This should be applied right after the eye- liner. In my opinion, powder eyeshadow's work best and stay put longer, but a lot of people like cream eyeshadows because they are more easily blendable. Creams tend to crease as you wear them though. For blue eyes, chocolate browns and taupes, and earth tones in general bring out your eyecolor. Brown eyes, try pale purples and mauves, and Navy blues and pale greens. Green eyes look gorgeous with soft pinks and earth tones. For those with hazel eyes... consider yourselves lucky... almost any color will do well with your eye color.

The best way to go is to buy an eyeshadow that comes with two shades of the same color.. for instance, chocolate brown, and light tan. You would apply the lighter of the two colors over your entire lid (do NOT go up to your eyebrow please... stay on your eyelid!)

Then, apply the darker of the two colors just in the crease of your eyelid ( that little groove along the top of the eyelid between the eyeball and the eyebrow bone) blend the lines so they don't look too defined.

mascara- the best rule for mascara is to use the same color as you use in eyeliner (brown-brown, black-black. etc...) Apply to both the top lashes and the bottom, starting at the root and extending out along the length of the lash. The more coats of mascara you do, the darker and more dramatic your lashes will look. To increase fullness of lashes, swipe the mascara wand from side to side while going up the length of the lashes.
go to chanel.com. look up the make up videos. they're awesome.
I used to have a ton of trouble applying makeup myself, but believe it or not, reading makeup tips in magazines really do work! Here is my advice:

Foundation-Liquid: Shake the bottle to get all of the color and pour a dab on a makeup sponge. Use the sponge to apply the foundation all over your face, dont miss one spot or else you will end up looking blotchy.

Powder: Most powder foundations come with a applicator, so use it wisely, make sure to blend very well because you dont want your face to look like you threw flour all over it.

Cream: My favorite cream foundation is the Dream Matte Mousse from Maybelliene. Just use your fingers and a sponge to apply cream. It can look cakey so be careful.

Concealer- Always apply concealer before foundation, it helps cover flaws better. To apply concealer, use a special concealer brush.

Lipcolor-Gloss: The best lip product in the world to use is flavored lip gloss. Just apply it to lips, it's as simple as that.

Stick: Find one that doesn't dry out your lips and that complements your skin tone. If you go to a department store, a clerk will help you find a shade that works for you.

Liner: I don't use lipliner, but make sure you apply it very lightly, you do not want to look like a clown!!

Blush-Get cream blush! It looks more natural, just smile and apply at the apples of your cheeks with your hands, blend well.

Eyecolor-Liner first, shadow, then mascara. Line the top and bottom of your eye, then apply shadow at the crease of your eye. Liner usually makes your lashes look thick, but if you want them to look thicker, apply one coat of thickening mascara.

I really hope this helps you! For more tips try going to a beauty website or buy a ton of beauty magazines!
alright. i'm going to go in order of how you should apply your makeup-

1. concealer-

this goes first because concealer is typically lighter than your foundation. you will have people tell you that you need to put this on last because your foundation with wipe it away. this is false for two reasons- 1. if your concealer is any good, it stays put. and 2. i've already told you, its lighter, so you would look pretty stupid if you put it on last. but anyway. never use the brush that comes with it if it is a wand concealer, its been sitting in it all day and its coated with it and too thick. intead- use your ring finger and dab it on. never wipe. dabbing creates a natural skin look, and you get more coverage this way. wiping just makes it thin and useless.

2. foundation-

liquid- use one of those white foam applicators, dabbing lightly, just like the concealer. again, this creates a natural skin texture and you get better coverage.

cream- same thing.

powder- same thing. except for use the applicator that comes with it. you can wipe with powder, just make sure you dont wipe too hard. do dab your problem areas tho.

*if you use a cream or liquid you should finish by applying a translucent powder to keep your foundation on your face, and get rid of uneeded oils.

3. blush-

large blush brushes are a gift of god. the small brushes that come with the blush apply the blush too heavily in a small area. if you use a larger brush...1 and half to 2 inches in diameter all the way around, it creates a more natural rosey look. smile, and whatever sticks out the farthest is what you should put blush on.

*tip- if you have dark under eye circles, and you used a lighter concealer and it looks unnatural even after you have applied foundation over it, a touch of blush will make it look right.

4. eye color-

first always apply a base. this keeps it so that your eyeshadow will not crease, and will last all day. you can use a couple of things for this, a product made to be a shadow base (you can get these at any makeup counter or makeup store, MAC has a couple good ones), a light liquid or stick shadow, your face foundation, or even lip stick. aply all over your top lid.

second, apply your eye liner, along the top lid, and the bottom lid. make sure that you do this thinly, eye liner should not be the focus of your eye make up, but simply an accent.

third, apply your shadow. apply the lightest all over your top lid, and then a darker shade of the same color scheme along the bottom of your top last along the line of your eye liner, widening as it gets to the outside of your eye.

then apply your mascara. do the top first, a curved brush works really nicely, especially if you have trouble applying mascara. it is a myth that you should not apply mascara on your bottom lashes. do so, but lightly. do not apply as much as on the top.

5. lip color-

i am a firm believer that a stick is unnecesary unless you look in the mirror and cant tell where your lips start and your skin begins. but if you just want to apply it-

open your mouth so that your lips are stretched and it gives you a firm surface on which to apply, and then just draw it lighly along the very edge.

lipstick of the SAME COLOR or just slightly lighter should be applied over.

or- lipgloss of the same color should be applied over.

i do not personally like the look of stick and gloss all at once, but if thats your thing then make sure your lip gloss is very thin and not too gloopy. a clear gloss will work best for this. but also make sure that you blot your lipstick before applying the gloss.

*always blot your lip makeup after you are through, this takes off the access and makes it look like you didnt JUST apply your makeup. do this with a paper towell. tissues tend to fall appart. just fold it, and bite down lightly with your lips. once or twice is enough.

goodluck.
I am going into cosmotology soon and I first you put on foundation, then consealer on your unwanted spots and then powder. For your eyes you want to always have 2 colors first the lighter one usaly a soft brown from lash to your eyebrow and then a darker one from lash to half way to the eyebrow then line the top and bottem lids but make sure its not really thick bc that looks trashy. Then curl your eyelashes use some mascara and then when they are dry curl them again.
lipgloss is easy just apply a small layer to your bottom lip and rub your lips together

blush- put some on the brush and put it on the balls on your cheeks

eyeshadow- put some on the brush and put it on your top eyelid

eyeliner- put it right above your bottom lashes

mascara- put it on your eye lashes
