What are the best makeup colors and application styles for my coloring?

Hello. I have dark blue almost gray round eyes. My hair is dark blonde and light brown, commonly called dirty blonde. My face is oval. My skin is light beige. What are the best makeup colors and applications styles for eyeliner, eyeshadow, blush, mascara, and lipgloss for my coloring?What are the best makeup colors and application styles for my coloring?
Well, you want to stay as natural as possible for during the day. And if you鈥檙e going out for something special or just feel like dressing up, then you can use a heavier/darker shade of make-up for that.





For your skin colour, eye and hair colour I would suggest trying this:





During the day


- EYES: For your blue/gray eyes, I would go for a neutral shade like CoverGirl 'Shimmering Sands' eyeshadow. This colour of shadow is neutral and looks the way it sounds -'Shimmering Sands' its some what of a beige/brown/sandy colour. It is a 3 shade eyeshadow, the middle shade goes on your eyelid, the darker shade goes in the crease and the lighter shade is supposed to go under your eyebrow. BUT I don't ever use the lightest shade because it is too shimmery. So I have a trick, instead use the foundation that you would for your face, and with a Q-tip lightly dot the foundation underneath your eyebrow and blend in, this will define your eyes and eyebrows giving you that wide-eyed girl next door look, Alicia Silverstone uses this trick and I won't leave the house without doing this. The eyeshadow I suggested will give your eyes more depth and they will appear bigger but you will still look natural because of the shade. For an eye pencil/liner, you want to go for a shade that is close to your eye colour. For you, I would try CoverGirl 'Midnight Blue'. Apply the eyeliner along your lash line this will bring out your eye colour and also make your eyes look larger. Finally, for mascara always go black. I don't know why they have different colours but to each their own. The most effective way at bringing out your eyes and eyelashes is 'BLACK' mascara, use a waterproof or smudge proof mascara. I would also suggest using an eyelash curler when you apply your mascara. You would be surprised at how much an eyelash curler opens up your eyes. (Be not afraid of the eyelash curler).





Tip: Remember when applying eyeshadow, eye liner and mascara that if you have 'close set' eyes you want to apply the makeup more to the outer corners, and vice versa if you have 'wide set' eyes apply the makeup closer to your nose. Also, eye brows should always be neat and trim. They really are what make your eyes stand out the most. If you don't like plucking go to your salon and for $5.00 they can wax your brows for you. WARNING: It hurts! It is just as easy to pluck really, and if you over pluck by accident you can use a pencil or shadow in a shade closest to your eyebrow colour and fill them in. Also, use a clear mascara (CoveGirl makes clear mascara) to help shape unruly brows.





- FACE/SKIN: You definitely want to use a foundation. A liquid foundation is the best bet for hiding anything and evening out your skin tone. For you I would suggest CoverGirl 'Continuous Wear' in 'Creamy Beige'. And then just a light-fair powder to set it. A way to add colour and define cheek bones is using a blush or bronzer. I like Physiques Multi-coloured Bronzer palette. It is awesome and lasts a long time. It looks like you just came from the beach, it is the easiest way to a sunkissed glow and even works as a definer for your cheek bones. Depending on how you want your bronzer to look, you can suck in your cheeks doing a fish face and apply only to your cheekbones or lightly dust all over for a sunkissed glow, and on the apples of your cheeks. To find the apples - just smile. Blush is great too, for your skin colour I would go for a pink or peach. Remember when putting colour in your skin, you want it to look natural. Go for the colour of bronzer or blush that is closest to the shade your skin blushes naturally.





Tip: When applying foundation always use a clean cosmetic wedge/sponge it gives you a more even application. Always use a brush for your powder, this helps to brush off any access powder off of your face and blends the powder more naturally. Lastly, when applying blush or bronzer always tap or blow on the brush to get rid of any access powder on the brush so that when you apply it, you don't end up looking like Christina Aguilera in that Moulin Rouge music video. LOL!





- LIPS: Lips are easy. Use a pink or bronzy light coloured lip gloss. Lipsticks are too messy and glosses are easy to apply and more natural looking. Use a nude lip liner to line your lips. And before applying your lip gloss use a chapstick, this will help your gloss last longer and your lips won't dry out so quickly.





Tip: So that you don't get any gloss or lipstick on your teeth, take your index finger and put it in your mouth and pull it out like you would a lollypop. This is a little trick that helps get rid of the stuff that can transfer to your teeth.





Voila! That was your easy, breezy day look.





For a night look.





- EYES: Same type of suggestions as above but I would go for plums and grays for an eyeshadow, a black eyeliner, and again a black mascara.





-FACE/SKIN: Keep this the same as above. This doesn't need to be complicated. You can try a light dusting of body glitter on your face if you want something different or dramatic.





-LIPS: Go darker. RED. Red is sexy and gorgeous. Think Cameron Diaz and how much the red brings out the blue in her eyes. QUICK TIP: When you use really red lipstick and apply it heavy make sure the rest of your makeup, especially your eyes are more subtle and neutral just because you don't want to look like a drag queen. When you are using RED, you will have to use a lipstick as opposed to a lipgloss. I would suggest applying two coats of lipstick. After the first application of red lipstick, dust some bronzer or blush on your lips, this will help the lipstick to last and stay put, then apply another coat of red lipstick on top of it. Finish with a dab of shiny lip gloss in the middle of your bottom lip. (Remember when applying red lipstick to do it lightly, you can always make it darker).

MY PERSONAL TIP: Remember when it comes to beauty and makeup, less is more AND blend, blend, blend. You don't necessarily need darker shades to go out at night, you will still look great even with a natural look. Well, I'd stay away from blue eyeshadows, but a light gray would be all right. Beige, shades like lavender/lilac, peach, would all be nice.





Eyeliner could be gray or black, maybe brown.





Mascara: black or brown or one of the colored ones.





Blush in a peachy shade or pinkish and only put blush on those areas where you'd get a touch of sun (bridge of nose, cheeks).





Lipgloss could be nearly any color you like: peach, beige, clear, pinkish. Put it over lipstick: the two together are a nice, longer-lasting look.





Experiment a bit and you'll find a look you like.

Okay Ill start with eye shadow first.





Green eyes- Purple will make your green brighter and really let them show!


Brown eyes- To make brown eyes brighter use blues to let them show!


Blue eyes- Use browns and dark browns to pop these out!


For all eye colors Natural looks great on all of them! Browns, earth toned colors work wonders!





Mascara





If you are a red head or blonde- Brown and black brown looks best.


If you are a brunett or have very dark colored hair- Black is the best color!
