Makeup application lessons?

I'm thinking about taking a makeup application lesson at the local spa to learn how to apply makeup for our wedding. It costs $50, and money is a little tight right now, but is it worth it? If anyone has taken lessons like these, please let me know if I should bother or not.

I figured it would cover makeup application cost for the wedding plus I think it would be nice to actually learn from a professional how to apply makeup.Makeup application lessons?
before you spend your money, go to a local department store, a big one, and go to the make up counters, clinique for example, they have a consultant, and you sometimes need to make an appointment to have a consultation. this will give you all the help and advice you need. they will match the perfect look for you down to the correct foundation for your skin type. explain what you want it for. and they will show you how various styles make you look until you get the look you want, they will also give you free samples to take away and try for yourself, they do expect you to go back and buy some, but thats down to you, give it a try, nothing to looseMakeup application lessons?
If you don't want to spend the $50 (which I wouldn't) why don't you see if there's someone who sells Mary Kay, or Avon close to you. I'll bet if you can find a consultant close to you, they'd be willing to help you--of course, they'd be more willing if you bought some products from them. ;-)
I wouldn't spend that much on makeup lessons.

There are shops like Merle Norman which sell makeup and give you free makeovers in hopes that you purchase the product (you don't have to, though). You can tell them what the occasion is and they're happy to teach you how to apply it (from the foundation to the mascara). They taught me how to execute a perfect smokey eye. They know ALOT and have an intimidating arsenal to work with ;-)

Even department stores like Boston Store, Macy's, and Kohls have make up specialists.

Be sure to bring a few friends along; they can get thier makeup done, give second opinions, and just have fun.
Do you have any Avon or Mary Kay representatives in your area? They could help show you how to apply wedding day make up. Mary Kay.com actually has a wedding section on their website. I hope this helps.
Do what i did, my friend does mary kay for a job and part fo what she does is goes to people weddings and does their makeup for them. Well shows them how to do it themselves before hand too. Then is there to help out on the wedding day too. If you want to contact her to find out how to find someone for where you live go here http://www.marykay.com/lwomble/default.a鈥?/a> just tell her i sent you. Danielle :0)

It's free and you might even get a good deal on some awesome makeup!

Also check out partypop.com for wedding stuff. If you are looking for videographer and photographer you should check out Grand Wushu Productions. They are listed as only covering new england, but will travel further if you're willing to pay for hotel and gas. Good luck!
it sounds like a good idea. if money is so tight that you cant spend $50 then there are much more serious things you should be worrying about.
I didn't wear any makeup, and for as much sweating as people do at weddings, AC or not, it's pointless to put it on.
