Mineral makeup application?

I received a mineral makeup starter kit and perhaps I'm doing something wrong, because so far it looks terrible. It's chalky looking and very masklike.

Does anyone have any tips on how to make this stuff work better and look more natural?Mineral makeup application?
did you get the bare minerals? what you do is start out very lightly..put a small amount of powder on the tip of the brush, tap it into the lid, swirl, tap again, then apply..start at your cheek bone area and lift it towards your ear..it shouldnt look chalky this way..also, if you apply too much, just take a piece of toilet paper and smooth out the color, kind of like taking some off..hope this works for you..Mineral makeup application?
its good for you but it dosent work
You might be using the wrong color, but give this a try:

Start by moisturizing your face. Then, tap a tiny bit of mineral into the lid, and swirl the brush around until it's picked up all the mineral. Then buff it into your face. Repeat as many times as necessary to get the sort of coverage you need.

The key with the minerals is not to apply too much at once - applying in very thin layers keeps you from looking chalky.
Hmm really? The same thing is happening to my cousin.
