What type of makeup or coverup is good to use to cover a facial scar? Any special application techniques?

Use concealer, instead of feeling uncomfortable with how you look, keep a few basic makeup supplies on hand to conceal blemishes.

Wash your hands before handling your face. Dirt and oils on your hands will only aggravate the blemish.

Choose a concealer appropriate to the color and type of blemish you wish to hide. Concealer is a creamier foundation makeup with added pigments intended for specific parts of your face.

Pick a yellow-tinted concealer to hide red blemishes; choose a concealer a little lighter than your blemish for hiding darker marks.

Choose a masking cosmetic (which is thicker than concealer and has added pigment) to hide more prominent blemishes, such as small scars left from pimples or skin irregularities.

Apply the concealer or masking cosmetic over the blemish using your finger, an eye shadow brush or sponge.

Blend the edges with the surrounding skin, using a circular motion.

Set the masking cosmetic with a special setting powder, then apply oil-free foundation and powder on top.

Tips:

Try a cover stick, which is a stick version of a concealer. These contain a high proportion of wax to add body and thickness.

Masking cosmetics are usually not available at drugstores or beauty aid stores but can be purchased at major department stores. They're expensive, but effective. What type of makeup or coverup is good to use to cover a facial scar? Any special application techniques?

Sue Devitt natural cosmetics.
this is a really good question that I always ask myself being that I have some scarring left over from acne well the first thing to do if it is from acne is to start a face regime that will help with breakouts in the future now if the money is tight try a over the counter cream make sure it is at least 4% bleaching cream, if you have some money which costs about 50 bucks go to your local derm and ask for the 6% bleaching cream this is as high as it goes ,as far as the makeup techniques well sweetheart depending on how scarred your skin is people will see them anyway try a good natural makeup that has minerals in it-what I usually do is first dot the area with cover then apply to the rest of my face finish with a bronzer or blush depending on your skin type- keep in mind you want to take good care of your skin so wear sunscreen and try not to be so self conscious your beautiful and scars will fade in time if they don't go to the derm they should be able to help you with any questions you have and also how they can assist you with the facial scarring-good luck
vitamin E!!! it's actually the main ingredient in many scar reducing creams so why waste your time just apply vitamin E directly to the problem area. you will see a significant difference within a month of use.
